Have I chosen a good password?
Don’t use passwords that contain your first name. Don’t use popular successions such as 1234, abcd, a1b2c3d4, etc. Don’t use the word ”password” or variations of the word as your password. Don’t use emotional terms such as iloveyou or ihateyou.
Don’t use same password for everything. If one site is hacked, all your other accounts may be compromised. Use passwords that contain both lowercase and capital letters, as well as numerals.
Do I have a separate email account?
Create a separate email id. Know your security questions. Do not include info on your profile, that way you cannot be identified if you are being harassed. NEVER give out your password.
Is it a Reputable Site? Is my Profile Secure?
Make sure the dating site has a Verisign logo. Make sure your profile info is confidential. Make sure they are an established company with a large database size. Check for contact details.
Am I being honest?
Don’t feel the need to tweak info about age, height, weight. It will only be to your detriment if you eventually meet the person in public.
Is what I am looking for clear?
To get the best results and best possible chance of finding that special someone, make sure they know you are looking for them. Be firm and bold, but not stalkerish.
